Chinese Ghost Month


This is a festival full of religious flavour.  Following Buddhist traditions, monks and followers hold ceremonies to redeem hungry ghosts during the 7th Chinese lunar month.  However, the later integration of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism has infused more implications to those sacrificial festivities.  Comparing to Westerners, Chinese people treat ghosts in a fairly different way due to cultural diversity.
